USA: Opening Date for Harry Potter World in Hollywood Released

This summer, Universal Studios Hollywood announced that its new “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” themed area will open in spring next year (cf. EAP News from June 30, 2015). Now the California-based theme park has scheduled the official opening date for April 7, 2016.
Furthermore, Universal Studios Hollywood has launched an advertising campaign, including a television spot, designed to build suspense and enthusiasm for the new attraction. The spot offers a first insight into the new magic world based on J.K. Rowling’s books and the Warner Bros. films.
Following a development and construction time of five years, the area will feature famous locations such as “Hogwarts” castle and “Hogsmeade” village as well as the thrilling 3-D ride “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” and the “Flight of the Hippogriff™” family coaster, which will be the theme park’s first outdoor coaster. Even though the new area is not yet open to guests, Universal Studios Hollywood already offers the possibility to purchase Harry Potter merchandise at the park’s souvenir shop. (eap)
