USA: SeaWorld Orlando Unveils “Mako” Car
In spring last year, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment™ announced its plans for opening Orlando’s tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster at SeaWorld Orlando this summer (cf. EAP News from June 2, 2015). A few days ago, the theme park now unveiled “Mako's” lead car. The hyper coaster will feature a total of 21 cars, including three trains of seven cars per train. The park states that when creating the front car's design, SeaWorld’s animal experts and the ride engineers where inspired by the physiology of a “real” Mako shark. The cars' wheels are comprised of a special compound which reduces friction, thus providing a smooth ride, even at speeds of up to 117 kilometers per hour. A lap guard will ensure the passengers’ safety while simultaneously allowing for mobility at the upper body. (eap)
