USA: Sun Valley Lanes & Games Enhances Leisure Activity Offerings
Founded in 1977, the Sun Valley Lanes & Games bowling center in Lincoln, Nebraska (USA), no longer only offers bowling experiences, but has steadily expanded its range of leisure activities over the past few years in order to be able to offer attractive attractions to the younger target group. Last fall, for example, a new laser tag facility was opened to visitors.
For a few weeks now, visitors have been able to try out the new indoor mini-golf course “Lucky Putt”, which was supplied by the Indiana-based company Creative Works and is currently being operated during a soft opening phase. With ten creatively designed miniature golf holes, all equipped with interactive technology, players can keep track of their scores without the need for pencils and slips of paper, as each station requires logging in via a screen with a name which was set at the beginning. The system tracks the movement of the ball and record the points which guests have scored. “People are enjoying the ‘gamified’ version of mini-golf. It’s different, fun, and anyone can play. […],” says John Losito, owner of Sun Valley Lanes & Games. Several beach volleyball courts are also scheduled to open at the outdoor facility this summer.
After reopening in June 2020 following a Corona-related time of closure, Sun Valley Lanes & Games is now back to operating at 75 percent of its visitor capacity. (eap)
