USA/Switzerland: “Fireball“ – Adventureland Long Island Announces Roller Ball Attraction for Spring 2022

The Adventureland amusement park, which opened in 1962 on Long Island (New York), will open a new family roller coaster of the type “Roller Ball S“ from Swiss manufacturer Ride Engineers Switzerland (RES) in spring 2022.

Named “Fireball“, the attraction (the first of its kind in North America) will invite visitors to an extraordinary ride experience, as the design is reminiscent of a marble run: along the track, the gondolas swing and sway downwards at a maximum speed of 7 m/s. Up to four riders can be seated in one gondola – with a total of three gondolas and a ride time of 70 seconds, a theoretical capacity of 360 pph is achieved. This family ride was first implemented in Germany’s Schwaben Park in 2018 under the name “Wilde Hilde“ with a funny chicken coop theme (cf. EAP 1/2019). (eap)
