Vietnam: New Sun Group Multimedia Show Premiers at Sunset Town

Sun Group, one of the leading leisure facility and park operators in Vietnam, has kicked off 2023 with a new multimedia show at Sunset Town on Phú Quốc Island, located right before Vietnam’s southwest coast. Sunset Town is a major project realized by Sun Group: a huge resort in the style of a Mediterranean town on the coast of the island. The resort, known for “the most beautiful sunsets in Vietnam”, is now additionally attracting visitors with its new “Kiss the Stars” show, which premiered on December 23 and will be available for all guests to experience starting this year.
The production company of the multimedia show is the French company ECA2, which worked on the show for a total of three years. To give the show a stage, a massive outdoor location was created on the coast, which offers a capacity for up to 5,000 guests. The theater consists of three arches located in the sea water with a maximum height of 30 meters, in which special effects can be triggered with a height of up to 60 meters. In addition, four water basins were created in order to optimally control the water during the show. Also, there is an architectural waterfall, whose waters fall into the sea. The projection screen is said to be the largest of its kind with a size of 1,000 square meters. In total, nearly 300 fixtures that include light, water and fire effect elements as well as laser and video projectors are part of the show.
“Kiss the Stars” can be performed either with live cast or without cast as a pure multimedia show during the day or night. The content of the show can be described as a typical “boy-meets-girl” story: The boy is from a local Sunset Town and the girl from a distant galaxy. The alien girl arrives on Earth through the black hole – a bridge between time and space. Then, a romantic love story is told, which is harmoniously embedded in the atmospheric ambience of Sunset Town. The numerous multimedia special effects are intended to offer viewers a unique experience. Sun World Group Director of Operations & Set Up, Daan Duijm, announces: “The Kiss the Stars show is not just pushing boundaries in Vietnam but worldwide. From the 1,000 square meter Sea Water Cascade, to the almost 300 special effect fixtures, guests will be impressed by the iconic arches and immersed in a world class show experience.“ (eap)
