Germany: Hamburg’s Miniatur Wunderland to Open New YULLBE Attraction in Early April
The date is set and it’s certainly not an April Fool’s joke: On 1 April 2022, the Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg will open its new, 750-square meter large VR experience world, which was created in cooperation with the technology company MackNeXT (cf. EAP news of 7 May 2021).
“For a year and a half now, we have been working together with Europa-Park on a spectacular high-tech attraction called YULLBE WUNDERLAND. Here you will be able to shrink yourself into Wunderland, among other things,” explains Miniatur Wunderland founder Frederik Braun, adding, “Virtual reality is already a magical term for some people. For many, however, it is still something far removed or even strange. We are going to change that! From 1 April, virtual reality will be on everyone’s lips. You could say that together with Europa-Park, we are making VR socially acceptable. We will offer almost everyone from the age of eight an experience they haven’t had before, unless they’ve been at home in the VR world for a long time. We have a cheeky promise: It will be an experience that will knock almost everyone’s socks off!”
Guests will be able to choose between two experience rooms: In the 80-square-meter “Yullbe-Go-Room” (10-minute experience), four different experiences will be available in the first stage of development – in addition to a crazy walk through the Wunderland, visitors will also be able to immerse themselves in three Europa-Park fantasy worlds (Ed & Edda, Alpha Mods and Traumatica). In the “Yullbe Pro Room”, six guests will be able to move through a 250-square-meter room with all their senses at the same time for 30 minutes, choosing between a shrinkage tour through Wunderland and Europa-Park’s “Mission Rulantica”. Frederik Braun concludes: “Whether 80 or 250 square meters is actually not important for the visitor. […] The most decisive difference between the two rooms, apart from the length of the experience, is the intensity of the experiences. […]”. The new attraction is complemented by a bar and a hidden passage leading into the miniature exhibition. (eap)
