“A Quiet Place”: New Horror House at Movie Park Germany
(eap) A new horror house can be experienced at Movie Park Germany in Bottrop-Kirchhellen, which is based on the Paramount Global film franchise “A Quiet Place” and allows visitors to immerse themselves in well-known key scenes from parts one and two of the horror films. On over 1,400 square meters, fearless park guests must find their way to freedom in a total of eight scenes between vicious creatures, ominous settings and quiet passages. The new maze thus also fits in with this year’s Halloween park motto “Stay Quiet, Stay Alive”.
“The desire for an IP horror house was very strongly represented among our guests,” says Halloween Project Manager Manuel Prossotowicz. “By partnering with Paramount Global, we can not only fulfil this request, but also bring a well-known franchise to the park that will further immerse guests in the world of the horror genre.” According to the park, the new attraction is not only one of the best-known horror film licenses of recent years, but also Europe’s largest indoor horror house to date. The Movie Park’s long-standing partners IMAmotion and IMAscore were once again responsible for the implementation of the project.
While horror houses often rely on narrow and winding corridors, in the case of “A Quiet Place”, more spacious areas are supposed to contribute to the special movie-like atmosphere. “This is a challenge that had to be carefully considered right from the concept phase in order to direct the viewer’s gaze in the best possible way – even distracting them if necessary – and to create a holistic experience,” explains Xaver Willebrand, Managing Director of IMAmotion and IMAscore. ■
