“Ice Beer” Made in Greenland

What might seem to some as a jump on the organic bandwagon is a profitable business idea for a brewery in Greenland (http://www.brewhouse.gl). Its “hand-brewed” beer is made with water from Greenland’s inland ice. The brewery believes that this water is 2,000 years old and has been conserved by an ice crust – free of all modern pollution and toxins. The Tivoli amusement park in Copenhagen presented the beer from Greenland for the first time at its “Greenland in Tivoli” event… and around 14,000 thirsty test drinkers were full of praise. The Greenlandic beer is brewed at a location around 600 kilometres south of the Arctic Circle. As we’ve heard, the US and Germany have already expressed some interest in importing the brew from Greenland, which experts consider to be very pure and mellow. (eap)
