“Illuminating Creativity” Special Exhibition at Swarovski Kristallwelten
(eap) In the new special exhibition “Illuminating Creativity” at the Swarovski Kristallwelten in Wattens, Austria, visitors can discover installations by renowned artists and designers such as fashion designer Iris van Herpen, artist Shourouk Rhaiem, fashion designer Manish Arora and Creative Studio Mary Lennox in collaboration with the Belvedere Museum. The installations include, for example, a production entitled “Life is Beautiful” by Arora, whose colourful depictions and opulent dresses aim to awaken a zest for life in the viewer. Meanwhile, French designer Rhaiem brings extravagance to a banal supermarket shelf in her installation “Ordinary Life”. In a nod to the aesthetics of pop art, she presents everyday objects with Swarovski crystals, stylising them into sparkling icons.
Studio Mary Lennox from Berlin created the “Golden Spring” installation, a “living” garden that appears like a floating island in space. A crystalline model of the Upper Belvedere is enthroned on lush moss. Furthermore, Iris van Herpens is presenting an installation entitled “Biomorphism”. The inspiration for this came from living organisms and organic patterns. The designer moulded these into hypnotic installations to show the performance of femininity. Illuminating Creativity can be seen through 31 January 2025. Exhibitions and events are a central pillar for the experience offer at Swarovski Kristallwelten. ■
