“MASSIV” Water Coaster Opened Today at Schlitterbahn Galveston Island
Schlitterbahn Galveston Island’s newest ride, “MASSIV”, opened today as the world’s tallest water coaster measuring nearly 28 meters in height – on June 16th this year, it had been officially added to the Guiness World Records. The water coaster (cf. EAP, issue 2/2016) has several innovations including a “no-net” design that maintains safety while giving riders a view of the ride experience. It features three uphill sections, a series of twists and turns, and a triple drop finale. “‘MASSIV’ will be the marque ride for our park,” said Ron Sutula, General Manager at Schlitterbahn Galveston Island. “Having a record-breaking ride is a great addition to Galveston and the perfect fit for our 10th anniversary. Best of all, ‘MASSIV’ is the kind of ride that will appeal to a wide range of guests, something we are always looking for in our attractions,” he added. “MASSIV” was designed and built collaboratively with WhiteWater Attractions.
