Schwaben Park with New Playgrounds as of this Spring
(eap) Schwaben Park in southern Germany, which is oriented towards families with young children, is offering its visitors new agricultural play experiences from this spring.

After 35 years, the park is retiring its chain carousel, which is now making way for the “Hofgaudi” farm playground. This represents a barn with high silos and a chicken coop and includes a slide tower and grid tunnels between the towers as well as a spacious ball track and a playable tractor. The park also announced an addition in the form of a large play combine harvester, which is being developed in collaboration with CLAAS, one of the world's leading manufacturers of agricultural machinery. “This collaboration was something special right from the start. The enthusiasm was immediate – both for us and for CLAAS! With this project, we are combining state-of-the-art agricultural technology with creative family entertainment,” says Schwaben Park Managing Director André Hudelmaier.

The new play areas are designed to give children the opportunity to discover agriculture in a playful way and let little adventurers slip into the role of real farmers and agricultural machinery drivers. The play areas were realized by the company Baschnagel, which was already responsible for a WASSPA water playground in the park. The official opening of the agricultural play areas is planned for this spring.
Another change at Schwaben Park is the “Azura & das Geheimnis des magischen Mühlbach” attraction, which opened in 2019 (cf. EAP 5/2019). The previous boat ride will be operated as a walk-through from the start of the season, making it accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. ■
