In Löffingen, Germany’s Baden-Wuerttemberg region, a new zoo and amusement park will see the light of day today: Tatzmania is the name of the new park, which is located directly on the premises of former Schwarzwaldpark and will be operated under new management and with a new concept. Taken over by business family Braun, who also operates nearby Steinwasen-Park, the park was completely revamped and redesigned. More than 15,000 cubic metres of soil were moved in the wake of the make-over – the park comprises of a total area of 46 hectares. In the future, visitors will be able to discover 27 different animal species.
Highlight of the zoo area is the three-hectare large predator facility, featuring a tiger trail, a show room and a quarantine area with five boxes – according to its own statement, Tatzmania will be home to one of Europe’s largest predator facilities. Visitors will be able to observe moderated lions feedings once a week. Until the whole area is completed, certain areas of the park will not be accessible for visitors for the time being. Besides the zoo, several new rides and attractions will await visitors as well. Read more about this new park in one of our next magazine editions. (eap)
