30th Edition of interbad Kicks off in Stuttgart

(eap) The 30th edition of interbad, the International Trade Fair for Swimming Pool, Sauna and Spa, kicks off today at Messe Stuttgart. For the first time, the trade fair is taking place not in several halls but under one roof in the L-Bank Forum (Hall 1) on a gross area of over 26,000 square metres. Around 280 exhibiting companies are presenting their new products and developments for the public and private pool, wellness and spa market here through Thursday, 24 October.

The European Waterpark Association (EWA), the organisation representing the European leisure pools, spas and waterparks, is once again represented at the trade fair with a booth (1J71) and a large Member Lounge. The association will be hosting the annual “EWA Awards” ceremony tonight at the nearby Mövenpick hotel – this year’s winners of the “pool industry Oscars” were announced in September and came to Stuttgart to receive their prize and explore the latest product developments and innovations of EWA member companies on the trade show floor.

On the second day of the trade fair, the third SchwimmMobil “Wundline on Wheels” from the Josef Wund Foundation (1C82) will be inaugurated in the presence of Wundline patron and Baden-Wuerttemberg’s Minister for Culture, Sport and Social Affairs, Theresa Schopper. Meanwhile, professional surfers will be demonstrating their skills three times a day (at noon, 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.) on the mobile Surf Days wave in the entrance area (Messepiazza, MP01). A special exhibition entitled “Swimming in Atmosphere” on the design and architecture of swimming pools is being shown by 4a Architekten in the foyer in front of Hall 1 (East Entrance, EO30). Furthermore, the Finnish association for sauna expertise Sauna from Finland – this year with a new stand concept and fresh presentation format – is also on site (1B27).

The extensive supporting programme also includes keynote speeches, workshops and presentations, which are taking place in the “Innovation Center”. In addition, the “interbad Innovation Awards” will once again be presented for outstanding innovations in the swimming pool, sauna and spa industry. The winners will be honoured on the second day of the trade fair during the “Nautical Night” (exhibitor evening) tomorrow. The presentation of all nominated products is taking place at booth EO-20. The 70th Congress of the German Society for the Bath Industry (DGfdB) will be held parallel to interbad. In specialist lectures, workshops and seminars, the DGfdB will be focussing on important topics of pool operation, pool construction and technology as well as personnel. New this year is an English-language International Session.
