(eap) The Traumland auf der Bärenhöhle amusement park in Sonnenbühl in the Swabian Alb (Germany) is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Surrounded by woods and meadows, visitors can discover various play worlds, rides and a lovingly arranged fairy-tale forest on an area of around four hectares. All attractions are included in the admission price and are primarily aimed at young children. The park was founded in 1974 by Hans Gebauer. To this day, the amusement park is an owner-managed family business, which is currently run by Ines Ehe.
With the “Wichtelexpress”, the owner family presented themselves and, above all, their guests with a very special birthday surprise. The fun and colourful family coaster from the manufacturer Art Engineering has been in operation since this spring. Children aged three years and over and 90 cm tall are allowed to ride the “Wichtelexpress” when accompanied or at least six years and 120 cm tall to ride alone. Thanks to a seating position close to track level, even the youngest passengers are able to enjoy an unobstructed view. In addition, the rows of seats have two individually adjustable restraint systems to ensure a comfortable seating position for adults and optimum safety for younger passengers. The train has been designed as a colourful locomotive, with the two gnome figures “Sini Bini” and “Hanni Banni” standing at the end and riding along, so to speak. ■
