6th AUREA Award Presented at Europa-Park
(eap) Once again, at the invitation of Michael Mack and MACK One, the Europa-Park Resort became a meeting place for innovative entrepreneurs, experts and visionaries from all over the world. At the AUREA Awards ceremony held on 18 January 2024, innovative products and developments in the field of immersive tech and entertainment applications in VR, AR, XR and MR were presented for the sixth time. The finalists of a nomination process lasting several months showcased their developments to a five-member jury of experts, who presented the AUREA Award in the categories of “Innovation”, “Impact”, “Interaction”, “Creative” and “Experience/Immersion”.
In the Innovation category, the award went to Sweden, to the development team from Motorica. Their software enables users to intuitively animate a digital character themselves with the help of artificial intelligence. The Regensburg (Germany)-based company brainjo received an award in the Impact category. With the help of VR glasses, the Bavarian developers are expanding the possibilities of occupational health management and offering brain training that combines movement with cognitive stimulation. The development is also to be used in the treatment of children with ADHD.
Thanks to the combination of a state-of-the-art wingsuit and a VR helmet, Limitless Flight has created a new kind of flying experience with its “JUMP” attraction. The jury honoured the team from the USA with the AUREA Award Interaction. The company PATCHXR merges mixed reality with music and video games in the Metaverse, whereby concerts, for example, can be experienced in digital space. The Swiss start-up received the award in the Creative category for its development. The award for the most immersive experience went to Holoplot from Berlin for its complex 3D sound design in Sphere Las Vegas.
For the third time, a sponsorship award for students and alumni of the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg was also presented as part of the AUREA Awards. The project “Fragments of Silence”, which was created at the film academy’s Animation Institute, was honoured by the jury with the “AUREA Young Talent Award”.
“I am impressed by the great innovative strength of all the nominated companies. With MACK One, we are always at the forefront of modern technology and see the AUREA Award not only as an award, but above all as an ideal meeting place for visionaries and developers from all over the world,” says Michael Mack, Managing Partner of Europa-Park and founder of MACK One. The next AUREA Award ceremony will take place at Europa-Park from 22 to 24 January 2025. ■
