Holoplot Launches New Loudspeaker Sound System

(eap) Berlin-based HOLOPLOT audio company has released its latest product, “X2”, a speaker system that comes in a more compact format than its predecessor, but still delivers unchanged sound quality – even in locations that bring challenges such as echoes, background noise and long distances. The system has been developed for speech-based and multi-content applications. Thanks to Holoplot matrix arrays, which use technologies such as 3D audio beamforming and wave field synthesis, sounds are said to be precisely placed. An integration of the sound system in outdoor areas such as those of amusement parks, zoos or in an indoor swimming pool with high humidity is possible without any problems thanks to a weatherproof variant of X2. This allows the speaker to withstand high temperatures, humidity and the effects of water.

“When setting out to design X2 it was obvious we needed to stay in line with HOLOPLOT’s Matrix Array principles. We wanted to bring the same unprecedented digital control over sound achieved with X1 and translate it to delivering unsurpassed intelligibility and directionality for typical install use cases such as auditoria, PA/VA applications, or houses of worship. Form factor and power to size ratio were key considerations from the get-go. X2 is optimized for speech applications, but can reliably support music content reproduction,” says Klas Dalbjorn, Product Manager.

With a depth of 13 cm (5.1”), the audio module allows for unobtrusive integration and flush mounting. Multiple X2 audio modules can also be arranged horizontally and vertically, creating arrays of varying sizes in portrait or landscape orientation. For seamless integration into a room, the speaker is available in a variety of colors and can be placed in acoustically transparent screens, wall panels or wall cavities. With X2, Holoplot has released a new version of its sound system design software, “HOLOPLOT Plan”, which can now be used to plan and simulate sound systems with X2 audio modules.

One of Holoplot’s most recent projects includes equipping the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas. ■
