Adventure Playground with Observation Towers Opens on Lake Constance
(eap) The “Robins Horn” adventure playground was recently opened in Romanshorn on the Swiss side of Lake Constance. After eight years of planning and six months of construction, it is now open to families and children on the Bunkerwiese.

The viewing platforms at a height of 7.4 and 15 meters offer an impressive panorama of Lake Constance and are connected by a rope bridge. The smaller tower offers a traditional stairway as well as a climbing net inside the tower. A special highlight for the brave: a stainless steel tube slide that leads down to the bunker meadow. With a “Wie-Glow” black light concept and a hand-painted Robinson Crusoe story, visitors can expect a very special slide experience here. The tower was designed by architect Susanne Fritz eight years ago. The unique ride was realized by the German company Wiegand. “We didn’t just build the slide here, but the entire tower. It was quite challenging, what the architect had specified with the individual peaks, but we mastered it and it turned out really beautifully. The tower will now be overgrown with climbing plants in the coming years,” says Miro Gronau from Wiegand, delighted with the result. A special lighting concept will also give the tower a very special effect at night.
The adventure playground is intended to round off the existing offerings of Schweizerische Bodensee-Schifffahrt AG and attract more families to the company’s existing restaurants and ships. In the first few weeks, access to the adventure playground will be free of charge; a value voucher system is to be introduced at a later date. ■
