Göppingen Outdoor Pool: Renovation with New Slides

(eap) The Freibad Göppingen outdoor pool near Stuttgart in the South of Germany is currently being renovated. The extensive renovation work began in April last year. As part of the modernization work, not only are the pools being renewed, but the old water slide has also been dismantled. In its place, two new stainless steel slides from the German company wiegand.waterrides have been installed. One is a tumble wave slide around 17 meters long and four meters wide and the other is a water slide over 80 meters long. The latter is being equipped with a timed traffic light and a “Life Line”, a rail system from Innotech that allows pool staff to be secured when checking or cleaning the slide.
Furthermore, the bath will also be brought up to the latest technical and energy standards. The pool technology is being modernized and a PV system for the power supply is being installed on the roof of the new technical building. The aim is to reopen this summer season. An exact opening date is yet to be announced. ■
