Airport Leipzig / Halle: Plans for Mobility Adventure Park
Aviation, automobiles, shipping and railways are the topics planned to be represented in a new mobility adventure park for children and adults. The concept for this park that was already shown on the EXPO REAL in Munich was developed by Bremen-based company Petri & Tiemann. They have been instrumental in the interactive exhibition “Welt der Luftfahrt, Hannover Airport” (‘World of Aviation, Hannover Airport’) opened in October 2008. An 11,000 square meter large (airport) area is planned to be provided for the adventure park – including an activity trail. A new building will be built on a 6,000 square meter gross floor space with direct connection to the terminals and the outdoor area. According to a spokesman of the airport, the time schedule and the financing haven’t been set, yet. However, at least 250,000 additional visitors are expected on the airport grounds when put into practice. (eap)
