Aqaba / Jordan: Plans for Themed Entertainment Resort with Star Trek Attraction Announced

The Red Sea Astrarium (TRSA), a 184-acre large themed entertainment resort with an attraction inspired by the 2009 Star Trek movie, is scheduled for opening in 2014 in Aqaba. Rubicon Group Holding (RGH), a global entertainment organization producing 2-D and 3-D animated TV, film, web-based and mobile content, will design and produce the new resort that will incorporate renewable technologies and aims to serve as a model for green energy. The family destination’s theming will celebrate the heritage of the region’s past civilizations and mingle these elements with Star Trek features. A Star Trek-themed center with multi-sensory “23re-century experiences” will offer a state-of-the-art space-flight adventure with real-time experiences. The attraction, licensed by CBS Consumer Products, will be developed by Paramount Recreation. (eap)
