Austria: Science Center Welios® Opened

Austria’s first science center located in Wels (we reported earlier in EAP issue 3/2010) opened on April 16, 2011. The new 3,000 square meter large facility implemented by Bremen, Germany’s planning company Petri & Tiemann offers a highly interactive exhibition including 150 exhibits focusing on the topic of renewable energy. Operated by a consortium consisting of Petri & Tiemann, Kraftwerk Living Technologies and the city of Wels, the 22 million Euro science center has already found first sponsors with the Industriellenvereinigung Oberösterreich, Wirtschaftskammer OÖ as well as the Lebensministerium.
