Austria: VAMED Vitality World Takes Over Operational Management of Thermen- & Golfhotel Bad Waltersdorf
In 2009, Austria’s Falkensteiner hotel group opened the Thermen- & Golfhotel Bad Waltersdorf in the Styria region, the management contract of Falkensteiner for the golf and spa resort expired in December last year. Since January 1st, the resort is operated under its new name Spa Resort Styria by VAMED Vitality World (cf. our special feature about Austria’s thermal spa market in EAP 4/2010), operator of several thermal baths and spa resorts, including Therme Wien. In the future, the resort’s business will be continued as an “adults only” hotel.
The international VAMED company, which is specialized in health treatments, launched the VAMED Vitality World brand in 2006, today operating ten resort sites in Austria under this brand as well as one resort in Hungary. With 3.2 million guests per year, the VAMED group is one of Austria’s leading operators of thermal baths and spa resorts. (eap)
