BRC’s Bob Rogers Elected to Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Board of Governors
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which is particularly known for its annual Academy Awards (“The Oscars”), is composed of more than 6,000 artists and professionals from the film industry. Both Oscar winners as well as Oscar nominees are among the academy’s members. Bob Rogers, founder and Chairman of the design firm BRC Imagination Arts, has been elected to their Board of Governors. Rogers was twice nominated for Oscars, for short films he produced and directed. The Board of Governors oversees the corporate management and general policies of the Academy. Popular American actors such asTom Hanks (“Forrest Gump”) or Annette Bening (“American Beauty”) are among the current Governors. Rogers, who takes the place of outgoing Governor John Lasseter, is one of three Governors representing the “Short Films and Feature Animation Branch” of the Academy. (eap)
