Bad Frankenhausen: Fantasy Theme Park “Weltentor”Bad Frankenhausen and its surroundings in the state of Thuringia, Germany were the scene of some of the most brutal fighting during the Peasants’ Wars in Thuringia in the mid 19th century. This autumn, work is to start on a 70-hectare large theme park based on this turbulent era in the region’s history. As reported on Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (a radio station), a private investor has budgeted 2.5 million euros for the project. Two hundred new job positions are expected to come of the theme park project. (eap)
