Belgium: “The Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland“ – Plopsaland de Panne Reveals Further Details on Coaster Novelty
It has just been announced that the roller coaster novelty at Plopsaland de Panne will be realized in cooperation with the annual “Tomorrowland“ festival held in Belgium – which with approx. 400,000 visitors is one of the world’s largest festivals for electronic music. The name of the Extreme Spinning Coaster supplied by the German manufacturer Mack Rides: “The Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland“. This ride is the first implementation of this coaster type in Europe and the second worldwide – the first installation “Time Traveller“ was launched in 2018 at Silver Dollar City amusement park in Branson, Missouri (cf. EAP cover story 3/2018).
“The coaster can be seen from afar on the motorway and changes the entire skyline of the park, which provides a whole new dimension. The fact that we can do this together with Tomorrowland is like a dream come true. Through this collaboration, we will both be able to entertain an even bigger audience, which will only make us stronger,“ says Plopsa Group CEO Steve Van den Kerkhof. The opening of the attraction novelty, the investment costs for which are estimated at 17.5 million Euros, is planned for this summer. Furthermore, a detailed Tomorrowland-themed area will be developed around the coaster. (eap)
