Belgium: KCC Entertainment Design Develops Unique Indoor Theme Park in China

KCC Entertainment Design – one of the world’s leading companies in entertainment design with headquarters in Belgium – was commissioned with the design of a unique indoor theme park of 34,000 square metres for the Dalian Wanda Group in Nanjing. The theme park is part of a high-class shopping mall that is being constructed in Nanjing, in the Chinese region of Jiangsu. The parks theming will feature Nanjing’s rich culture, history and folklore. Besides some unique attractions – e.g. an interactive and fully immersive roller coaster – each attraction will reflect another aspect of the Nanjing culture. One example for this is the drop tower, which is located inside a Chinese pagoda and telling a local legend. The strength of the park design is the combination of traditional elements with modern technology, such as virtual reality and 3D-mapping. KCC Entertainment Design is also involved in the development of the Wanda Qindao indoor theme park, which is scheduled to open in 2017 according to media reports. (eap)
