Belgium/Czech Republic: Plopsa Announces New Indoor Park for Prague
Belgium’s Plopsa group, which opened the Majaland Kownaty (Poland) as its first amusement park in Eastern Europe in 2018 (cf. EAP 6/2018), today announced the construction of a new Plopsa-branded indoor theme park in the Czech capital of Prague, as an extension of the Premium Outlet Prague Airport shopping center. In cooperation with the Czech TNI real estate and investment group and the also locally-based KAPRAIN group (operator of the premium outlets & principal investor for the new park), the new park will emerge nearby the shopping center. Families can look forward to a leisure destination with around 15 attractions – including a rollercoaster, a wave swinger and a free fall tower – themed around the “Maya the Bee” IP from Studio 100.
“I am very delighted that we can cooperate with the Czech partners, TNI and KAPRAIN, and I am convinced that together we will make a success story. Thanks to the good location of the park, nearby the shopping center and the airport, we hope to welcome not only local families but also many tourists coming to Prague,” says Plopsa CEO Steve Van den Kerkhof. Construction works are expected to start soon, the opening of the new park is planned for late 2021. (eap)
