(eap) Belgian company BoldMove Nation has unveiled a new trackless dark ride system, which is now available under the Rogue Rides brand. These are vehicles that have autonomous control and operate entirely without tracks. High-performance sensors are designed to enable precise positioning and autonomous movement of the vehicles. The so-called “Mecanum” wheel technology makes it possible for the vehicles to move in any direction – forwards, backwards, sideways or diagonally. In addition, the “SLAM” (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) technology is intended to provide precise navigation in complex environments, making the system suitable for dark rides. The design of the Rogue Rides vehicles can also be fully customized so that they can be seamlessly integrated into themed attractions.

“I’ve built dark rides all over the world with a wide variety of vehicles from different manufacturers. But I’ve never seen a system that moves the way we need it to for a more dynamic and immersive experience. We often work with regional parks that have limited budgets and want to integrate a dark ride attraction into an existing building. With Rogue Rides, we solve these challenges – and much more: the vehicles can run all day as their batteries are continuously charged, and maintenance is easy. We can equip the vehicles with sound and interaction functions and synchronize them with media and AV technology via advanced show control software. The movement of the vehicles enables a highly dynamic experience that is unrivaled to date,” explains Benoit Cornet, CEO of BoldMove Nation. ■
