Bollywood Parks Dubai Permanently Closed
A sad fate befalls Dubai’s theme park landscape: After the Bollywood Parks™ theme park belonging to Dubai Parks™ & Resorts (DXB Entertainment / Dubai Entertainment Holding) was temporarily closed to visitors during the month of Ramadan (from 22 March to 21 April 2023), the park will from now on keep its gates permanently closed. The park communicated, “We thank all our guests, partners and teams who played a part in bringing the colourful world of Bollywood to Dubai, since we launched the world’s first theme park dedicated to Bollywood in 2016.”
Here, visitors could immersive themselves in the movie world of Bollywood in six different themed zones with a total of 17 family-friendly rides, attractions, numerous live shows, food and retail offerings (we reported in EAP 6/2016 & EAP News 22 Dec 2016). Unfortunately, visitors were never able to enjoy a ride on the wooden roller coaster “Bombay Express” supplied by Great Coasters International, which was intended for the Six Flags park originally planned in Dubai but never realized and was ready for operation since 2020, but was not put into operation for unknown reasons.
The park further states that the “Raj Mahal” theater, which is part of Bollywood Parks, is scheduled to reopen soon and will be available for private events. It is also stated that “exciting details of the new attractions and experiences set to open at the Middle East’s largest theme park destination” will be announced over the coming months, suggesting continued operation in a different form. Last fall, Dubai Parks™ and Resorts announced the creation of a Real Madrid theme park in Dubai.
Still open and available to guests are the other parks and accommodation offers belonging to the resort, such as Motiongate™ Dubai, LEGOLAND® Dubai Theme Park, LEGOLAND® Water Park, LEGOLAND® Hotel, LAPITA™ Hotel, Autograph Collection and JumpX in the retail and gastronomy mile RIVERLAND™ Dubai.
