Brand: “Tropical Islands” with a profit
Years of hard work have paid off: Ole Bested Hensing, manager of the “Tropical Islands”, is pleased with the unexpected influx of visitors and a successfully completed business year. For the business year that ended at the end of January an operative annual profit of several million Euros is expected. “Tropical Islands” was able to record both a higher number of visitors and an increased turnover per head, which led to an extremely pleasing result: the first balance-sheet profit since opening the facility at the end of 2004. Concrete details will be announced by the Malayan owner, the Tanjong group soon in the annual report for 2008. According to the Berlin “Tagesspiegel” Hensing is sure: “People want to distance themselves from bad news and so they are pouring into our hall from far and wide.” Tropical Islands booth on the ITB (International Tourism Fair) in Berlin was also visited by the prime minister of Brandenburg Matthias Platzeck.
