Canada: Endless Surf Strengthens Management Team

The management of Endless Surf, a business unit of WhiteWater West, which specializes in the development of artificial surfing destinations, has now been strengthened by Baptiste Caulonque (photo right) and Andrew Thatcher (photo right). Frenchman Caulonque, who served as general manager for the surf brand Rip Curl Europe from 2006 to 2012 being responsible for the company’s retail, wholesale and operations, will assume the position of chief commercial officer at Endless Surf alongside company president Paul Chutter. Since 2017, Caulonque has been involved as a strategic advisor in the La Vague Grand Paris project – a mixed-use leisure and sports destination, which will include an Endless surf attraction and is scheduled to open in 2023 (cf. EAP news of 19 May 2020).

“There have been pivot moments in my career and being introduced to Endless Surf 18 months ago was one of them. From the start, I was impressed with the professionalism of the team and blown away by their wave technology – I consider myself very lucky to be joining what I’m confident will be the undisputed leading technology and operators’ top choice for surf pools,” commented Caulonque.

Also, Andrew Thatcher joins the Endless Surf management as he assumes the position of Vice President of Business Development. Thatcher is considered a veteran of the artificial surfing industry since he began his career at WaveLoch in 2000 and subsequently spent 20 years as VP Business Development for WhiteWater’s subsidiary FlowRider. “We are surfers who want to bring surf to the world. We share the ambitions of our clients; we want to make venues that book out wintery mid-week mornings and we’re confident we have the formula to do that,” Thatcher explains his vision. (eap)
