Carnival Announces New Ships for Even More Fun at Sea

(eap) Carnival Cruise Line has announced two additional new ships that will provide for fresh entertainment and experiences at sea: The “Carnival Festivale” is scheduled to set sail from Port Canaveral (Florida) in spring 2027. Delivery of the “Carnival Tropicale” is scheduled for early 2028.

On decks six, seven and eight, the Carnival Festivale ship will offer completely new areas, a special focus will be set on a music theme. Media technology and interactive features will be used to bring the music creation process to life, for example. There will also be a new outdoor zone: Called “Sunsation Point”, this is designed to appeal to the family audience, who will be able to enjoy themselves in the Carnival Waterworks Ultra water park, which will include six slides, four of which will be new to a Carnival ship. An elevated adventure trail and a ropes course will also be part of the offer. Sunsation Point, including the water park, will be accessible in the evening as part of special evening events – atmospherically staged with lights, DJ sounds etc. The second newly announced ship – Carnival Tropicale – will have similar facilities.

“Since our inception in 1972, we have defined and led the modern cruise industry and our plans for the next five years and beyond are no different. […] Having just integrated two ships into the Carnival fleet in Australia, we now stand at 29 ships, the largest global fleet in our history. Looking ahead, we have the opening of Celebration Key this July, followed by our expansion at RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay in 2026, the delivery of our fourth and fifth Excel ships in 2027 and 2028; […] We are poised to continue our leadership position as both America’s cruise line and the world’s most popular cruise line,” comments Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line, which is part of Miami-based Carnival Corporation.

Carnival Corporation’s portfolio also includes the AIDA Cruises brand. At the Seatrade Cruise Global trade fair currently taking place in Miami, AIDA Cruises also announced two new ships that are to be built at the Fincantieri shipyards in Italy and will enter service in spring 2030 and winter 2031/2032 respectively – with this step, AIDA aims to further expand its strong position in the German cruise market in particular, bringing the fleet to a total of 13 ships. ■
