Carowinds Announces Camp Snoopy Expansion for 2025
(eap) Theme park Carowinds in Charlotte, North Carolina has announced the expansion of its “Camp Snoopy” themed area with the addition of a new roller coaster and an interactive water ride for 2025. The Peanuts™-themed kids area already includes two roller coasters and will next year receive a Family Launch Coaster in addition, to be named “Snoopy’s Racing Railway” and supplied by German manufacturer Art Engineering. The roller coaster train will offer seats for up to 14 guests and accelerate to 31 mph (almost 50 km/h) in just a few seconds before zipping through the winding, 804 foot- (approx. 245-meter-)long track twice.
Furthermore, “Charlie Brown’s River Raft Blast”, a refreshing attraction, will move into the park operated by the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (read also our news about the Six Flags/Cedar Fair merger). The interactive boat ride from Mack Rides will feature seven boats – five of which will offer space for up to eight riders, while the other two will be wheelchair accessible and accommodate up to seven persons. A ride will last around 4.5 minutes in total, during which both the boat passengers and the park guests “on land” can have a water fight with each other using interactive water cannons. In addition to the boat ride, “Splash Play Zones” have also been announced for 2025, promising refreshment on hot days... Moreover, in the newly designed “Camp Store”, visitors will be able to meet their favourite Peanuts characters in an air-conditioned meet & greet area.
“We’re excited to introduce the latest adventures in Camp Snoopy in 2025,” says Manny Gonzalez, Vice President and General Manager of Carowinds. “Our re-imagined Camp Snoopy will allow families to ride and play together, immersing them in a summer camp experience with the Peanuts gang. From the thrilling twists of Snoopy’s Racing Railway to the splashes at Charlie Brown’s River Raft Blast, our focus is on family fun. These new features will transform Camp Snoopy into more than just a place to play and cool off; it will become a destination for creating family memories.” ■
