CdA Abandons Grévin Wax Museums in Praha and Seoul
After the French operating group Compagnie des Alpes (CdA) had already announced in its report for the first quarter of the 2017/2018 financial year to terminate operations at Grévin Praha and Grévin Seoul (opened in 2015) due to recurring losses, the Czech facility, opened in 2014, was officially closed yesterday. Purchased tickets can be returned to the museum through to the end of this month.
“Despite year-on-year increases in visitor numbers and improved financial results, the prolific project did not achieve a balanced budget due to its high operating costs,“ is the explanation on the website of the visitor attraction. No details have been disclosed yet with regards to the Korean site. The Paris-based Grévin Museum and the facility located in Montréal/Canada, opened in 2013, will remain unaffected by the closures.
