Center Parcs Expand
The pan-European operator of holiday parks, Center Parcs, wants to construct four new facilities in Germany and France within the next few years. An investment sum of up to 800 million euros has been budgeted for this, says the chairman of the board at Center Parcs Europe, Christophe Jeannest. The corporation specialised in mini-breaks is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and over the course of its further business development, has primarily focussed on the development of the German market. One hundred million euros were invested here this year alone. Center Parks wants to build two new holiday parks in Germany, where it has been running four facilities with around 2,200 holiday homes and hotel rooms up to now. According to its own information, the company that belongs to the Pierre & Vacances Group currently has a total of 17 holiday parks all across Europe, with over 11,100 holiday homes in total. In the 2006/07 fiscal year, these facilities were booked by 3.1 million guests for 12.9 million overnight stays. Turnover was 529.8 million euros (515.8 million the previous year). (eap)
