China: Nickelodeon Playtime FEC to Open in Shenzhen in Late 2020
In the immediate vicinity of the retail and entertainment complex Shenzhen OCT Happy Harbor, a new FEC called Nickelodeon Playtime will open by the end of this year. China Leisure Development Co. (CLDC) and ViacomCBS developed the new family-friendly entertainment offering, which will be seperated into four playing zones. The four areas will be dedicated to the well-known Nickelodeon IP’s “SpongeBob SquarePants“, “PAW Patrol“, “Dora the Explorer“ and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles“. The project- and attraction design was created by Cincinnati-based JRA planning and design company.

We see rapid growth in family entertainment spending in China and strong demand for shopping centers for experiential products. Nickelodeon Playtime is part of our strategy to capitalize on this trend.“
