China/USA: Three new Six Flags Parks Announced for China
Six Flags Entertainment and its development partner, Riverside Investment Group, have recently announced the addition of three more Six Flags parks to be built in China with an opening scheduled for 2020. Six Flags Kids World will be the first park of its kind, built adjacent to both the two Six Flags parks currently under construction in Zhejiang and Chongqing (cp. EAP news from February 24th, 2017). Designed for families with young children, the parks will feature junior-sized versions of Six Flags’ famous rollercoasters, rides and attractions. Furthermore, an all-new Six Flags Adventure park is planned for the Chongqing site, offering outdoor thrills e.g. in the shape of motocross bicycle races, whitewater rafting, zip lining and rock climbing appealing to thrill-seekers.
“The Six Flags brand is recognized throughout the world as a leader in innovative thrills for all ages and we are delighted to extend our signature brand of entertainment with these exciting new properties. Six Flags Kids World and Six Flags Adventure Park will offer unique, interactive experiences tailored to every member of the family – from the youngest thrill-seeker-in-training, to the ultimate adventure-seeker,” said John Odum, President, Six Flags International Development Company.
Zhe Li, Chairman, Riverside Investment Group, added: “There is great demand for leisure experiences in China and Six Flags’ reputation in the theme park and entertainment industry is unmatched. We are excited to expand our partnership and bring the latest and most innovative Six Flags offerings to more and more people. It has always been the vision of both Six Flags and Riverside to have multiple parks throughout China and this announcement builds on that shared vision,” said Li. (eap)
