Contract Signed for Maritimes Science Centre Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel

The AWC AG, SMG Entertainment Deutschland GmbH and the regional capital Kiel have co-signed a contract for the collaborative development, construction and operation of the Maritime Science Centre Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel. A science and adventure centre is planned, the focus of which will primarily lie on the portrayal of maritime science and technology, as well as marine-biological aspects. The investment volume for the science centre amounts to 26.3 million euros and the grand opening is scheduled for 2011. Interestingly enough, however, there had already been negotiations with Merlin Entertainments (Blackstone) for the science centre in Kiel, which fizzled out despite their advanced stage.
