Denmark: LEGOLAND Announces Major Expansion for 2022 Season
LEGOLAND® Billund is planning a major expansion for the upcoming 2022 season with eight new attractions for young and old, which includes more than ten million of the colorful building blocks. The various new building attractions will be located at different locations in the park. In the 250-square-meter “Legoland Gallery”, guests will be able to build their own models from the colorful Lego bricks and draw inspiration from the more than 100 structures on display from fans from around the world.
Visitors of all ages can perfect their building skills at the new “CREATIVE Workshop”. The “DUPLO® Fun” indoor area, which also extends over 250 square meters, offers younger guests the opportunity to give free rein to their creativity with Duplo bricks. In the outdoor building activities “BUILD A BOAT – LEGOREDO Town” and “Polar Land”, guests can build their own boats, which can then compete against others in an eleven-meter-long canal. The 200-square-meter indoor area “The Great LEGO Reef”, featuring lots of Lego bricks and building tables, gets a full underwater theme.
In addition to the various new building attractions, the existing “Mini Boats” attraction will be updated with models of the Statue of Liberty and the London Eye, for example.
„At LEGOLAND, we have been providing inspiration and new ways for our guests to use the LEGO brick for more than 50 years, where the only limit is their imagination. We´re really looking forward to being able to use the LEGO brick in even more ways with our guests moving forward, and hopefully we can also learn a lot from each other,“ says Christian Woller, CEO of Legoland.
