Denmark: Tower Ride Construction at Copenhagen’s Tivoli Stopped

"Fatamorgana" is the name of the new unique tower ride that is scheduled to open at Denmark’s Tivoli amusement park in the heart of Copenhagen with the beginning of the park’s summer season this April. The new attraction will feature 3-in-1-ride experiences in order to attract children, adults and thrill-seekers alike. The German Huss Park Attractions is supplying the new ride, which will combine a Condor 2 G-tower with varying gondola types. At the foot of the tower a kiddie bumper car ride will be integrated (we reported on this in EAP, issue 1/2016). As recently announced, the construction of the 45-meter high tower has been put on hold by the municipality of Copenhagen by the end of January since not all the required building permits had been issued to the park. According to the park’s own statements, “a slight misunderstanding between Tivoli and the municipality is causing this brief stop in the construction of ‘Fatamorgana’. We are now waiting for the results of a hearing, but expect to start construction again shortly to be ready for the Tivoli summer season beginning 6 April,” Ellen Dahl, PR Executive at Tivoli, says.
