Disney Adventure World: Mega-Transformation Is Progressing
(eap) The comprehensive redesign of the Walt Disney Studios Park (in future Disney Adventure World) at Disneyland Paris is making visible progress. The new “World Premiere” entrance area will open on 15 May this year and, in the best Hollywood style, will set the mood for a visit to the existing adventure worlds and upcoming expansions of the park. Construction work on the new attractions is in full swing, and new restaurants and shops will soon be available to discover. Construction of a new family attraction based on the animated film “Up” by Pixar Animation Studios is due to begin at the end of this year. Another new attraction, “Raiponce Tangled Spin”, will also delight families in future – it is a teacup ride dedicated to the Disney animation film “Tangled” and is being realised in the new “Adventure Way” park area. With regard to the Disney hotels, the resort announced the extensive renovation of the “Disney Davy Crockett Ranch” after the 2025 summer holidays and of the “Disney Sequoia Lodge” as of 2026. A newly designed LEGO store and a shop selling Disney home accessories will soon open in “Disney Village”.
“As our second gate continues its transformation, we are proud to be unveiling the next milestone with the opening of World Premiere in a few weeks. As part of the 2-billion-euro investment plan announced in 2018, we continue to reinvent this park with a fresh creative vision. At the end of its expansion journey – which includes the opening of Adventure Way, Adventure Bay, and World of Frozen in 2026, and later an immersive world themed to The Lion King – we’ll have reimagined more than 90 percent of the park’s offerings since its debut in 2002, and roughly doubled its footprint to truly become a can’t miss-experience,” states Natacha Rafalski, President of Disneyland Paris.

Construction work on the “Lion King” themed world is also due to start this autumn. The associated main attraction will be a water experience that transports guests to the heart of the “Pride Lands”, where Simba will await them for an unforgettable adventure… “We are looking forward to launching the construction of this new immersive world inspired by the Lion King and its major attraction, which will mark another milestone for Disney Adventure World. The main attraction will showcase the key features of Disney experiences: loveable characters, an unforgettable soundtrack, immersive décor and effects, and exciting thrills thoughtfully delivered throughout the adventure. All of the Imagineers who work on this project have their hearts set on paying a vibrant homage to this timeless masterpiece by creating unforgettable memories for all our guests,” comments Michel Den Dulk, Vice President and Portfolio Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering.
From next weekend, guests will be able to marvel at a colourful model of the redesigned and expanded Walt Disney Studios Park (Disney Adventure World) in the existing “Animation Celebration” theatre, specifically in its post-show area, which illustrates the dimensions of this comprehensive park transformation and – above all – is set to fuel anticipation! ■
