Disney Cruise Line Expands Cruise Offerings – Disney Wish Still on Time

Disney Cruise Line, the cruise ship and travel segment of the Disney company, recently announced new destinations for the 2022 season despite the fact that travel restrictions are still mandated. But the company is optimistic that cruises will be possible again in the near future: “While we prepare for a return to sea just as soon as the time is right, we continue to look to the future and develop more cruising options for families. Offering this diverse new line-up of itineraries for the summer of 2022 shows our commitment to taking more guests to more destinations around the world as we plan for additional ships in the years ahead,” explains Thomas Mazloum, President of Disney Cruise Line.

New European ports of the Disney Magic will be Chania (Greece), Porto (Portugal), Riga (Latvia), Maloy (Norway) and Nynashamn (Sweden). The new travel destinations include the Greek Isles and the Mediterranean region as well as the Baltic, the British Isles, Iceland and Norwegian fjords. Starting in 2022, guests who aboard the Disney Wonder will be able to enjoy the return to the glaciers of Alaska. From Miami, guests of the Disney Dream will for the first time be able to experience a trip to Disney’s private island of Castaway Cay (Bahamas archipelago), which was previously only to reach by the cruiseship’s home port in Nassau. For holidays in the tropical zone, the Disney Fantasy offers travel destinations including the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

The highlight of the 2022 season is planned to be the maiden voyage of Disney Wish, which was announced in 2019 (cf. EAP news of 26 Sep 2019). The Rapunzel-themed ocean liner will offer 1,250 guest cabins and will be powered by liquefied natural gas. (eap).
