Disneyland Paris: “Storybook” Attraction Back with New Scenes
(eap) After several months of redesign, the iconic “Le Pays des Contes de Fées” attraction (also known as “Storybook Land Canal Boats“) at Disneyland Paris has reopened to visitors. To mark the 30th anniversary of the fairy-tale boat ride attraction it has been given three new scenes, to appeal to a new generation of Disney fans. Park guests can now discover miniature models based on the Disney films “Frozen”, “Winnie the Pooh” and “Up”. In boats for up to 15 people each, guests travel through recreated Disney locations and imaginative landscapes. These now include Elsa’s Ice Palace, Carl Fredricksen’s flying house and Winnie the Pooh’s treehouse. The Disney Imagineers and the Disneyland Paris landscaping, design and delivery team are responsible for the transformation.
Furthermore, the attraction has a new sponsor: mineral water brand Vittel®. Visitors find references to the partnership both in the waiting area and in the full title of the attraction, which is “Le Pays des Contes de Fées, presented by Vittel”.
Le Pays des Contes de Fées has been immersing Disneyland Paris guests in miniature fairy-tale worlds since 1994. The attraction is based on an idea by Walt Disney himself and is a reinvention of the classic “Storybook Land Canal Boats” ride, which celebrated its premiere at Disneyland Anaheim in 1956. Besides the new scenes, the Paris version features unique elements such as Belle’s Village from “Beauty and the Beast” and Rapunzel’s Tower from “Tangled”. ■
