Dollywood Teams with Gaylord Entertainment to Build Family Entertainment Zone in Nashville

The two companies Dollywood and Gaylord Entertainment, both based in Tennessee, USA, announced that they have entered into a memorandum of understanding for a 50/50 joint venture to develop an around 46 hectare large family entertainment zone adjacent to the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville. The Dollywood Company will act as operating partner. In the first phase of the project, a 50 million Dollar (about 37.9 million Euros) water and snow park is projected to open in summer 2014, whereas an about 14 hectare large area will be reserved for expansion and complimentary regional attractions. 500,000 guests are expected to come to the water and snow park in the first year. Dolly Parton (Dollywood Company) and Colin V. Reed (Gaylord Entertainment) look forward to bringing year-round family entertainment to Nashville. (eap)
