Dubai / VAE: Cartoon Network Heroes to Enter IMG Theme Park

In our EAP issue 5/2012 we reported about the license agreement between Marvel Entertainment and the two entrepreneurs Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari for their indoor theme park project to be built at the City of Arabia in Dubai. Now the two brothers took another important step for their project: they are collaborating with Turner CN Enterprises to bring a dedicated Cartoon Network Zone to their IMG Theme Park. The zone will feature popular Cartoon Network characters like from “The Amazing World of Gumball”, “Adventure Time” and “Lazy Town” with a number of themed attractions. Moreover, the park will feature the world’s first “Ben 10” 5D ride as well as the largest “Ben 10” retail store. “We are very pleased to partner with Turner CN Enterprises. The launch of the Cartoon Network Zone will position us as the key theme park operator in the region,” says Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari of IMG Group. The total area for the first phase of the themed entertainment development will be in excess of 111,500 square meters. As the Cartoon Network Zone is the second of a total of four themed zones, it remains to be seen which other partners will be involved in this project as well. (eap)
