Dutch Company AVASTO Recreatietechniek Increases Its Workforce
Based in the Dutch municipality of Oudewater (Utrecht province), AVASTO has been active for many years as a technical provider in the leisure sector, where it offers customized solutions for planning, installation and maintenance. Among the specialties of the supplier is swimming pool technology – steam baths, wave machines, whirlpools, saunas, solariums etc. belong to the company’s range of products for pools and spa facilities. For water slides and water play structures, the supplier manufactures and installs light and sound effects. Among the supplier’s existing customers from the leisure and tourism sectors are well-known companies such as Center Parcs and Capfun, according to its own statements. Since 2022, the company has bundled its activities in the leisure sector in the AVASTO Recreatietechniek business unit, which is headed by Sales Manager Jasper Grootveld (formerly Van Egdom).
In order to expand its existing product range in the field of leisure facilities and drive its growth, the company says it was able to win over part of the former staff of the Dutch supplier Van Egdom. After the well-known water slide manufacturer Van Egdom had filed for bankruptcy earlier this year, the company and its products were taken over a few weeks ago by the German manufacturer Wiegand.Waterrides (we reported on this on 5 Feb 2023). On a personnel level, AVASTO has now been able to take on some former Van Egdom employees, as the company reports. “With the bankruptcy of Van Egdom, we had the unique chance of acquiring a high skilled and experienced staff, that we can fluidly add to our own staff. A situation where you don’t need to think twice,” says the AVASTO Board. (eap)
