EAS 2018: European Trade Show Generates a 24 Percent Increase in Attendance
According to preliminary estimates of IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions), this year’s Euro Attractions Show, which just came to an end yesterday afternoon and took place from 23 to 25 September at the RAI Convention Centre in Amsterdam/Netherlands, produced record-breaking results including a 24-percent increase in attendance over the previous year. This year the total number of participants amounts to 15,800 people (2017: 12,400 visitors), including 11,300 buyers. Also the number of exhibiting companies (570) and the size of the exhibit floor (15,000 square meters) set new EAS records.
“We were excited to bring Euro Attractions Show 2018 back to Amsterdam during IAAPA’s 100th anniversary. Our members love this city and so do we. The show in 2014 in Amsterdam marked the first time ever we hit 10,000+ attendees,“ said IAAPA Vice President of IAAPA Europe, Middle East, and Africa, Jakob Wahl. “This year marks the first time we hit over 15,000 attendees, reflecting the strength of the location, and of course the strength of the global attractions industry.“
All results and highlights of the show will be summed up in our detailed trade show report, which can be found in our next upcoming magazine edition, the Nov/Dec issue (EAP 6/2018). Next year, the European trade show will return to the French capital: from 15 to 19 September 2019, EAS will be held at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles again. (eap)
