Edelwies Freizeitpark Opens Two New Coasters
(eap) Two new family-friendly roller coasters have recently opened at the Edelwies Nature and Leisure Park in the Bavarian Forest. On the one hand there is the “Eulenblitz” (Engl.: Owl Lightning), one of the park’s new highlights and the faster one of the two coasters. At speeds of up to 60 km/h, the Zierer ride travels along a winding track of around 460 meters. The train offers capacity for up to 16 people. Children taller than 120 cm can ride accompanied by an adult and those at least 130 cm tall are allowed to ride alone. If the ride on the Eulenblitz is still a little too fast for ones kids, they can look forward to the “Marienkäferexpress” (Engl.: Ladybird Express) from SBF Visa. With a maximum speed of up to 28 km/h, the ride is pleasantly leisurely. On a track length of around 135 meters, passengers can enjoy a nice view of the surrounding landscape. The Ladybird Express can be used by children who are 100 cm tall when accompanied by an adult and 120 cm or taller when riding alone.

Also new this season is the “Rutschenwelt” (Engl.: Slide World), with ten slides and a total length of around 140 meters. The dry slides are located on a slope so that visitors can either just walk down the path or use the slides. To get up from the valley to the alp to start the slide experience, there is the new “WieLi” funicular, which has eight carriages. Those who don’t wish to get off at the slide world can also take a round trip through the forest on the cable car. Both the slide path and the funicular were realized by Wiegand Slide. ■
