Efteling Announces New Restaurant “Kashba” in Oriental Style
The Dutch theme park Efteling has announced a new restaurant concept for its park. The existing restaurant “Panomara” is currently being transformed to the new “Kashba”. Together with the Dutch restaurant chain La Place and the catering service provider Vermaat, the park wants to create a new catering concept around the oriental world of Sinbad – matching the “1001 Nights/ The World of Sindbad” theme area.
“The building that housed the former Panorama restaurant has been in Efteling since 1953. In recent years it has had many different forms of use and all kinds of names. Now it’s time for the next step. We are taking the building into the thematic experience of the world of Sinbad and giving it a new name: Kasbah,” says Dennis Krijgh, manager of the park’s catering area.
The restaurant will be designed entirely in an oriental style, with stylistic elements such as battlements, ornaments and other decorative shapes. A colorful nomad tent in front of the restaurant will connect the interior and exterior of the restaurant. The oriental food can be ordered via QR code from the new “Nomade” kiosk. In addition, it will also be possible to purchase drinks and food to take away at the kiosk.
Ingrid van Leeuwen, Form Director of Veermat comments on the new project as follows: “We are very proud to be able to operate La Place here in this unique way. From the beginning of April, guests will be able to enjoy the recognizable formula of La Place while being surprised by the flavors of the Orient. In Kasbah, we will create recognizable themes. Like a bustling market, a mystical oasis and a colorful nomadic tent.” (eap)
