The Dutch theme park Efteling has added 60 new charging stations for e-cars to its visitor parking lot, the units were supplied by Eneco eMobility. Together with the 27 charging stations that have already been in place, the leisure destination now offers what it describes as the "largest charging park in the Benelux." A total of 174 electric cars will be able to charge simultaneously at the now 87 charging stations once the theme park is allowed to reopen its gates after the current lockdown.

“Environmental awareness is part of our DNA. Efteling aims at becoming climate neutral until 2030. The addition of further charging stations comes in line with this objective. I am very proud that we are now home to the largest charging park in the Benelux,“ said Fons Jurgens, Chairman and CEO of Efteling. “Currently, we are unfortunately still closed. When the reopening will be allowed again, numerous visitors will be able to make use of our loading park.“

Joris Laponder, Chief Commercial Officer (COO) at Eneco eMobility, is pleased about the latest cooperation with Efteling: “Eneco eMobility and Efteling are responding to the growing demand regarding charging options for electric cars. The charging stations are therefore not only an environmentally friendly investment, but also represent a special service for visitors to Efteling. The fact that we were able to implement this project together was an important step on the road to sustainable mobility.“ The charging points installed by Eneco at the Efteling visitor parking lot charge with one hundred percent renewable energy.
